3/4 Warden's Farmhouse

House. C17, extended in late C19 and C20. Timber framed, clad with C19 red
brick in Flemish bond, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays facing SE,
with central stack. Late C19 extension to rear of left end, forming an L-plan,
and small lean-to extension beyond. C20 flat-roofed 2-storey extension in rear
right angle, clad with vertical tiles. One storey with attics. 2 C20
casements, and 2 more in gabled dormers. C20 door in semi-circular arch.
Half-hipped gambrel roof on original building. Chamfered transverse beams with
roll and notch stops. Face-halved and bladed scarfs. Primary straight bracing.
Large wood-burning hearth facing left, equivalent hearth to right blocked.
