1912, extended 1913 and 1914. Third unit completed 1912-1922. By C H Hignett.
Symmetrically planned factory building grouped round 3 sides of a court yard.
This is a major work in the Arts and Crafts manner, but adapted to a monumental
scale. The 4 corner pavilions are linked by lower workshop ranges. Pavilions
with hipped tile roofs with gablets and gabled dormers. Brown brick with plain
stone band below eaves level and at first floor. Recessed window bays with
mullioned windows of reinforced concrete with leaded casements. Connecting
workshops with industrial glazing below segmental arches.
