RAMSGATE ADDINGTON STREET TR 3764 NE (west side) 12/26 No. 57 (Queen Charlotte Public House) GV II Public house. Between 1801 and 1821 altered c.1900. Stock brick and slate roof. Three storeys and basement with parapet and stacks to right. Segmentally headed glazing bar sash on 2nd floor and cambered bay on 1st floor with glazing bar sashes. Later C19 canted bay to whole of ground floor, with 3 arched plate glass windows, and panelled doors with rectangular fanlights to left and, blocked in, to right. Central panelled cellar doors below windows. The building is shown on Collard and Hurst's 1821 plan of Ramsgate, part of the development of Addington Street after 1801 by James Townley. (See Busson, Ramsgate, 108). Interior preserves small painted overmantel of Napoleonic war period.
