CANNON STREET EC45002(North Side)'London Stone' with stonesurround and iron grille

CANNON STREET EC4 1. 5002 (North Side) 'London Stone' with stone surround and iron grille set into base of No 111 TQ 3280 NE 16/441 5.6.72. II* 2. Uncertain origin, possibly Roman milestone. Formerly set into base of St Swithin's Church (on this site) which was damaged in World War II and afterwards demolished. Surround of Portland stone and iron grille, probably C19.
