In the entry for: 3/95 SADDLEWORTH DOBCROSS (off Long Lane) Nos 1 to 5 (consecutive) Edge End The list description should be amended to read: Row of cottages and former barn. Mid C18 with substantial later additions and alterations. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Total of 10 bays, of which 1, dates from 1946 (part of No 5) and 9 and 10 have been inserted in the former barn (part of No 1). C.1985. 2 storeys with 2 small C20 lean-to extensions to rear. Bay 1 (left) is an addition of 1946; otherwise there are 9 ground floor windows and 8 first floor ranging from 2 to 12-lights with recessed cavetto-moulded stone mullions, the majority of which have been reused from a former building. 4 C20 porches, a blocked door and a door with square-cut surround. The earliest portion (No 1 - mid C18) is a laithe-house having a former barn, now converted to accommodation. 2 windows and porch on the front to match the others, segmental headed centre entry to rear, now glazed. Various recessed flat-faced mullion windows to rear. 3 chimney stacks all of C20 date. Interiors: largely modernised, only No 5 seen, the original end wall of the terrace remains within. Despite the alterations this remains a largely complete and characteristic terrace. ------------------------------------ SADDLEWORTH DOBCROSS SD 90 NE (Off Long Lane) 3/95 Nos. 1 to 5 (consecutive) Edge End and - adjoining barn - II Row of cottages and barn. Mid C18 with substantial later additions and alterations. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Total of 8 bays (plus barn) and 2 storeys with 2 small C20 lean-to extensions to rear. Bay 1 (left) is an addition of 1946; otherwise there are 7 ground floor windows and 6 first floor ranging from 2 to 12- lights with recessed cavetto-moulded stone mullions,the majority of which have been reused from a former building. 3 C20 porches, a blocked door and a door with square-cut surround. The earliest portion (No. 1 - mid C18) is a laithe-house having a barn with dressed winnowing door, shippon door and segmental-headed cart entry to rear. Various recessed flat-faced mullion windows to rear. 3 chimney stacks all of C20 date.
