6/204 Screen walling enclosing
forecourt immediately north west
of North Perrott Manor House
GV II
Screen walling enclosing forecourt. Probably 1877. Ham stone ashlar, but balusters of artificial stone. In form of
baustrading with moulded plinth and toprail, with square plan balusters set diagonally and piers with lozenge panels
wide panelled piers with obelisk finials to central gateways in north-west and north-east lengths. South-west side has
a metre-high ashlar wall with moulded coping returning back to house, gateway with architrave and open pediment over.
The whole an important part of the setting of the Manor House (qv). If the work is of 1877 it represents an early use
of artificial Ham stone in this area: it may be c1909 however, as the gates in the rear walling are so dated (qv).
Included primarily for group value with the Manor House (qv).
