Circa 1866. Tall obelisk in grey stone with 2 marble plaques, 2 flags and
a wreath. High battered plinth below which is grotto opening for spring -
approached by path and steps from east. Erected by mother of Frederick Stukeley
Savage (died 1866) for the benefit of the poor. Formerly in grounds of Norton House
(demolished).
