1. 5230 BURSLEDON WINDMILL LANE Bursledon Windmill SU 41 SE 6/74 II* 2. 1741. Built on the site of a post-mill, this is an example of an early tower mill, a comparatively rare structure within a county rich in water mills. Of 5 storeys, the main structure is a circular tapering brick tower. The interior contains a full set of timber machinery virtually unaltered and of national importance the external features (cap, sails, chain gear and timber gallery) having gone since the termination of use in 1907. Restoration scheme in progress 1979. Starred for its early date, and rare machinery.

Please note that the inclusion of a listed building on this website does not mean it is open to the public.
