House, now office. c1850. Limestone ashlar with lateral stacks
and a concrete tile hipped roof. Double-depth plan.
3 storeys; 4-window range. A right-hand porch is set back,
with rusticated quoin strips to overhanging stone eaves, and a
banded ground floor. The porch has pilasters to a frieze and a
keyed semicircular-arched sash, formerly doorway; 1 window
above set back. Main block has right-hand ground- and
first-floor tripartite windows, paired on the second floor;
ground-floor windows have plain jambs with bracketed feet,
panelled aprons, and consoles to cornices; eared architraves
on first floor, which has full-width wrought-iron balcony with
panels of diagonal bars with central circles, and eared and
shouldered architraves on second floor above a wide sill band;
6/6-pane sashes, second-floor casements. Stacks with bracketed
cornices. INTERIOR: hall with side dogleg stair and bracketed
cornices; former boardroom to the front has a good fireplace
with Ionic columns. Nos 21-33 (qv) are linked into a single
office.
