Pair of houses. 1851-1855. By Charles Lynam. Stucco over brick
with concrete tiled roof. Italianate style, balanced
asymmetry. 2-storeyed, 4 bays, with outer gables advanced, and
projecting porches and bay windows added slightly later to the
central range. Round-arched sash windows grouped as mullions.
Hipped roofed porch to No.3, with canted bay window along
side, gabled porch to No.4 with lean-to bay window with
Palladian style lights. Tower to rear. Wood modillion cornice
to overhanging eaves. Axial stack. Built as part of a planned
development of middle-class housing originally comprising 24
houses.
