Pair of houses. 1851-1855. By Charles Lynam. Stucco over brick
with pantiled and concrete tiled roofs. Italianate style.
2-storeyed, 5 bays symmetrically arranged. Outer bays are
advanced gables with canted bay windows to ground floor with
round-arched mullioned lights, and paired mullioned sashes
above. Gabled porches in angles of gable and central range,
and triple round-arched mullioned sash windows. Tower to rear
of No.23. Overhanging eaves, rear stacks. Built as part of a
private development of middle-class housing, originally
comprising an estate of 24 dwellings.
