office, railings and lamps

Lifting road bridge spanning the River Hull. 1901-1902. By
City Engineer. Mechanism renewed late C20. 2 riveted
wrought-iron spans forming a shallow segmental arch, with
patterned wrought-iron handrails to the footways on each side.
At each end, a pair of brick piers, 3 of them with the stumps
of cast-iron gas lamps. At the west end, on the north side, a
wooden post with a bell atop. To its left, a single-storey
triangular office, brick with slate roof, with 2 windows
flanked by 2 doors, all with segmental heads and overlights.
To left again an S-plan approach ramp with patterned cast-iron
railing ending in a gas lamp. The bridge is complete and
operable.
