ST 76 SE MONKTON COMBE TUCKING MILL 7/144 Tucking Mill House - II Detached house. Late C18, altered C19. Ashlar with hipped slate roof. 2 storeys and cellar at left. 2 bays: 16- and 12-pane glazing bar sash windows. 6-panel door in angle to rear. Said to be the home of William Smith, the Father of British Geology, who lived here whilst engaged in the construction of the Somersetshire Coal Canal. (A. Buchanan and N.
