Triumphal arch, now containing police station. Erected 1846. Designed by
Decimus Burton. Portland stone. Single archway flanked by coupled fluted
Corinthian columns and pilasters. Heavy cornice. Scuptured plaques surmounted
by bronze sculptured group of winged victory in chariot drawn by 4 horses,
designed by Adrian Jones and placed in this position in 1912.
