Inn. Early C19. Lias stone, mostly rendered; triple roll clay tiled roof, coped south-east gable: near-central brick
chimney stack with moulded stone capping. Two storeys, 3 bays. Sash windows below, 12-panes, with dovetailed stone
lintols; above, 2-light small-pane casement windows of earlier pattern, no window upper bay 3; between bays 1 and 2 a
plain doorway with C20 part-glazed door, and signboard over; hanging sign on south-east gable; extension to rear has
thatched roof with stepped coped north-east gable, 2 bays of small-pane casements and C20 part glazed door. Interior
not seen. First mention of this building as an inn 1897. (VCH, Vol III, 1974).
