SEMINGTON HIGH STREET ST 86. SE (off west side) 4/195 Semington Aqueduct II Partly in Melksham Without CP (q.v.). Aqueduct carrying the Kennet and Avon Canal over Semington Brook. Late C18 to early C19. Limestone ashlar with some engineerng brick patching. Single stilted segmental arch with channelled voussoirs, rectangular moulded panel, with no inscription, over arch on each side, ashlar parapet with weathered coping and swept revetment walls. Kennet and Avon Canal was built between 1794 and 1807, surveyed by John Rennie. (M.C. Corfield, ed., A Guide to the Industrial Archaeology of Wiltshire, 1978)
