SU 9279 DORNEY LAKE END ROAD 21/412 Halfway Cottage - - II So named because it was reckoned to be halfway from Dorney Court to the inn and coach stop on the Bath Road. C16 or early Cl7. Timber-framed; tiled roof. South elevation cement rendered and covered with ivy. Two storeys with chimney at each end. Ground floor with oak door with wrought iron hinges and, on either side, a long narrow window with diamond leaded lights and a 3-light casement. First floor with one 3-light, two 2-light and one small window, all with square leaded lights. On the right-hand return a porch formed by exposing part of the oversailing first floor. East elevation of one storey plus attic. Brick. Two casement windows and a dormer window. Right-hand return with gable end, garden door and 3-light window above, both with Y-tracery.
