1. 823 BATHWICK HILL (North Side) Bathwick Hill House ST 76 SE 4/523 II 2. Early/mid C19 classical villa, possibly by Goodridge. 2 storey, 3 unit entrance front,3 windows, sashes, round-headed with moulded surround and impost band to ground floor and 1st floor centre. Portico with flat entablature on 4 columns with water-leaf capitals. Double doors under square-headed recess with 2 large scroll brackets supporting lintel. 3 window 3 units south elevation. Square headed sashes with glazing bars. Central french doors, balustraded portico in antis, 2 fluted columns, water-leaf capitals, no bases. Cast iron balconettes to 1st floor side windows. Wide end pilasters, wide eaves band, moulded cornice. Good interiors: staircase with stone treads, moulded handrail, cast iron balusters with roundels and anthemion motifs. Coved and ribbed plaster ceiling, plaster friezes and cornices, fireplace surrounds. Inner end of dining room has radiused corners with panelled curved doors.
