1. 823 LONDON ROAD (South Side) 14.7.55. Grosvenor House 12.6.50. Nos 1 to 41 (consec) Grosvenor Place ST 7566 SE 8/422 ST 7666 SE 31/422 I 2. 1790. Architect John Eveleigh. Terrace of 42 houses with double curves to large house (No 23) in centre. 3 storeys and mansard 3 windows mostly. Some with rusticated ground floors No 23 (formerly Grosvenor Hotel) has giant Ionic half columns through 1st and 2nd floors with decorated swags. Balustraded parapet. Plaques (some carved) between storeys. Projecting 4 column Doric portico. Front has 6 windows. Vermiculated, rusticated ground floor with semi-circular headed windows with cobweb glazing bars. Grosvenor House has 3 storey bow at end with 1st floor wrought iron verandah. No 3. Neo-Grec porch. Nos 12, 13, 14 rusticated ground floors. No 13 has 5 windows. Central 1st floor window decorated entablature and wrought iron balcony to all windows. 2nd floor windows have wrought iron guards. Porch with Ionic columns in antis. Cornice sweeps up for this taller house. Nos 32, 33 and 34 similar to Nos 12, 13, and 14. Nos 22 and 24 Neo-Grec porches.
