1. ST JOHN'S PLACE 823 Garrick's Head Public House & Theatre Royal ST 7464 NE 18/45 12.6.50. II* 2. Formerly Beau Nash's house 1743-61. Built by Thomas Greenway circa 1720. Front elevation 2 storeys and attic. Entablature over 1st floor windows is broken up to bedmould of the cornice over every opening as well as at the quoins. Balustraded parapet over attic. Garrick's Head Public House occupies part of the lower floor. Bust of Garrick 1831 by Gahagan. Greek egg and tongue enrichment. North facade of theatre, facing on to Beaufort Square, is by George Dance the Younger, 1805, carried out by Palmer.
