Circa 1840-50 ashlar villa with Italianate details. 2 storeys to road and sides.
Raised on terrace across full width of plot with lower ground floor on south garden
front. Plain frieze. Low hipped slate roof, deep flat eaves, corniced flanking
chimneys. Symmetrical 3 windows road front, cornice on carved fluted consoles
over ground floor windows, recessed large pane sashes, thin glazing bars. Projecting
cornice on large carved and fluted consoles over entrance which has later door.
One window extension at 1st floor level to left hand, the ground floor set back.
The south front to garden also of 3 windows with 2 storey grooved canted bays
flanking above terrace. The lower ground floor is screened to centre by a 5 bay
slender moulded arcade. Plain parapet to terrace with pierced panels.
West Brow, Vale View House, St Christopher, Combe Ridge and Belmont form a group.
