1. COMBE ROAD 823 COMBE DOWN Nos 46 and 48 ST 7562 37/1167 II GV 2. Circa 1795-1815 or possibly refronting of slightly earlier cottages. Part of a short row formerly known as Brunswick Place. 2 storey ashlar set back from Nos 42 and 44 with ground floor below road level. Gable end pantile roof with copings, eaves band to road front. No 46 is double fronted (formerly 2 cottages) with 3 windows, outer ones blind 1st floor - recessed glazing bar sashes. Plain, gabled stone porch. No 48 has 1 window each floor, that on ground floor with flush architrave surround glazing bar sashes, that on lst floor set above small glazed porch. Both have plain spike rails on dwarf stone walls to road with steps down to small sunken forecourt. Rear elevation has cornice and parapet, most windows retain glazing bar sashes. Nos 42 to 52 (even) form a group with The King William IV Public House, Rock Hall Lane.
