1. RALPH ALLEN'S DRIVE 823 Mortuary Chapel, Abbey Cemetery 34/1565 II 2. Norman tower at west end with base open on 3 sides as porte cochere. Plain ashlar buttress corner piers. Blind intersecting arcading to 1st stage, 2nd stage with arched bell openings. Machicollated base to pyramidal ashlar spire. Body of chapel short with 3 bays each side divided by strip buttresses with machicollated heads to each bay. Narrow Norman windows with colonettes, impost band. Prominent situation, in cemetery laid out by J.C.Loudon. Architect: G P Manners 1844.
