SHEFFIELD SK3485NW CEMETERY ROAD 784-1/37/162 (North side (off)) 08/09/70 Monument to Mark Firth 60m east of New Chapel at General Cemetery II Memorial monument. c1880. Sandstone and granite. Cross-gabled inscribed pedestal topped with draped urn, on stepped and partly vermiculated plinth. Chamfered base. Chamfered inscribed slab. Surrounded by a round-cornered cast-iron railing on a chamfered stone plinth. Mark Firth was one of the leading steel makers and public benefactors in C19 Sheffield.
