Terraced houses. c1855. Stucco, roof obscured by parapet.
EXTERIOR: 4 storeys over basement, 3-window range. The group
is on a convex curve in plan, Nos 34-37 identical, No.38
projecting forward slightly with a full-height and almost
full-width segmental bay, terminating the terrace. No.38 and
the southern edge of No.34 have quoins to the first, second
and third floors. Ground floor decorated with chamfered
rustication. Nos 34-37 have flat-arched entrance with
overlight, framed by pilasters and entablature. All windows
flat-arched; those to the first floor have architraves and
alternately triangular and segmental pediments; bracketed
first-floor balcony with piers and cast-iron panels between;
second-floor windows have architraves; modillion cornice;
attic storey; secondary cornice and blocking course; stacks to
party walls. No.38 has return in Dyke Road: porch with
pilasters and wreathed cornice, now enlarged to 2 storeys,
with steps at right angles to first-floor entrance; 2-storey
canted bay to left of porch; all windows flat-arched and
without mouldings; cornices carried round.
