BRIGHTON TQ3409 UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX 577-1/10/1135 Chichester Building 30/03/93 GV II* Includes: Molecular Science I, including Chemistry Lecture Theatre and staircase to S UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX. University chemistry building. 1962-65. Sir Basil Spence. Red brick and bare, board-marked concrete. Timber windows. Flat roofs. Courtyard plan with rotunda attached to south containing chemistry lecture theatre, and adjoining flight of steps. 2 storeys and basement. Horizontal windows with deep concrete lintels. Projecting buttresses between bays, topped by projecting concrete beam ends. Deep concrete parapet. INTERIOR: not inspected.
