BOSLEY C.P. BOSLEY RESERVOIR SJ 96 NW 1/1 Valve House in Reservoir Dam II Valve House, circa 1830, William Crosley engineer. Buff gritstone, tunnel-vaulted, of cyclopean stonework, with semi-circular entrance. C20 barred wooden gate. Stone wing walls to sluiceway. The valve controls the outflow from the reservoir which was built to feed the Macclesfield Canal, opened in 1831. Bryant Map of Cheshire published 1831.
