BEBINGTON MANOR ROAD SJ 38 SW (west side) Thornton Hough 6/156 Gatehouse to Thornton Manor G.V. II Gatehouse. 1910. ByJ. Lomax Simpson. Stone with timber- framed 1st floor and stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Moulded base, recessed entrance with canted angles, corbelled bressumer to 1st floor, decorative timbering and timbered coving, central gable has decorative timbering and bargeboards. Windows have leaded lights, those to ground floor have double-chamfered mullions, of 3 lights to canted angles, of 4 lights with king mullion to 3rd bay. 1st floor has central 7-light canted oriel on corbel with Leverhulme arms; flanking paired 2-light windows recessed into coving. Central 4-centred archway has decorated spandrels and carved corbels above; paired doors with strap hinges. Rear has 2- storey canted bay and 2 stacks with octagonal shafts with decorative caps. Decorated lead gutters and downspouts.
