1859-62. S S Teulon, architect. Additions of 1901 and 1911. High
Victorian Gothic style. Built of red brick with stone dressing, bands
and decoration in black brick. Hipped and mansard roofs with gables and
dormers. Tall brick chimney-stacks. The whole design extremely varied
and ornate. The entrance front is dominated by a tall tower porch set
behind a porte-cochere. Tower has a mansard roof, dormers and metal
finials. To right of tower is a one-storeyed block. To left the facade
is set back and there are curved bay windows, shaped gables and dormers.
The garden front is two-storeyed and of great variety. Mullioned and
transom windows with pseudo - three - centered heads. Brick pilasters
between windows culminate in stone finials. Brick balustrade. Mansard
roof with brick dormers with shaped gables. To left is a turret and
elaborate brick chimney-stacks. Interesting interior with fine fire-
places.
