SD 33 SWBLACKPOOL PRESTON NEW ROAD, MARTON3/12Little Marton MillII

SD 33 SW BLACKPOOL PRESTON NEW ROAD, MARTON 3/12 Little Marton Mill II Tower windmill, rebuilt c. 1840 on site of earlier mill, and recently restored. Brick, whitewashed, with wooden cap, and sails. Circular plan. 4 storeys and basement; now parallel-sided cap (original probably of boat-shaped Fylde type); fantail missing; 4 sails without vanes. Double door at basement level on east side; door over basement on west side. 3 window openings with metal covers at first and second levels, 2 at third level: square with flat segmental brick heads. Blocked openings at basement level on north and south sides. Worked until c. 1920, was externally renovated and refurnished with cap and sails c. 1968.
