SJ 3833 NW GREEN BANK DRIVE L17 34/560 Greenbank Synagogue 12.5.83 G.V. II Synagogue, 1936. Alfred Shennan. Brick and concrete with tiled roof. West front, 3-bay projecting entrance front, approached up 2 flights of shallow steps. 3 segment-headed arched openings, supported on 2 circular brick piers. Above are three 3-light tall metal framed windows within rubbed brick surrounds. Decorated brick parapet above. Side elevations have tall round-headed windows between canted buttresses which step up to taller central block. Bowed stair blocks at west ends. Interior in Art Deco style. Central Almemah of wood with metal railings, and 4 large candelabra, one at each corner. Pews on north and south, galleries above and on west. East end has panelled and decorated Aron Kodesh, reached up 5 marble-steps. Glass- fronted gallery above and behind for choir. Marble faced lectern at west. Concrete barrel vault, with cross vaults over aisles.
