SJ 3489 PARK LANEL130/876Swedish Seaman'sChurch

SJ 3489 PARK LANE L1 30/876 Swedish Seaman's Church 14.3.75. - II Church. 1882-3, said to be by W.D.Caroe. Red brick, with tile roof. Basic square plan, stepped gables on 4 sides of central octagon, which has 4 gablets, pyramidal roof. Wooden bargeboards to lucarnes and finials to gablets have Scandinavian carving. Ground floor has 4 segmental windows, 1st floor has pointed arched windows, 4 quatrefoils flanking 3 stepped lancets in gable. Tower to left has trefoiled arcading at the top with pagoda-like lead covered spire which has gabled openings to middle stage. Canted corner has stepped lancets under stepped gable. To left with segmental C20 casements. Hipped dormers and roof. Cross- axial stack with gablets.
