SJ 48 SW SPIKE ROAD 393/10/1180 Liverpool Airport International Terminal 19.06.85 GV II* Hangar, now terminal. Later 1930's. Sir A. J. Cobham with Sir J. Burnet and Partners. Steel structure with brick cladding. Large folding hangar doors between brick piers with stone relief panels of winged figures to tops. Window above has central light with flanking horizontal lights stepped inwards. Returns have ground floor projections, 2 bands of windows. Among the earliest surviving examples of air transport buildings in the UK. P.Rees, A Guide to Merseyside's Industrial Past, 1984 P19.
