Tunnel entrances. 1840. By IK Brunel. For the Great Western
Railway. Squared rubble and dressed Pennant stone. Fortified
entrances to either end of tunnel, Norman Revival-style
semicircular arch with a surround of machicolations, arrow
slits and a crenellated parapet.
