20/06/88 Mill building, part of Murray's Mill
(Formerly Listed as:
Cotton spinning mill. 1804. Red brick in Flemish bond, slate
roof. Rectangular plan parallel to street. Five storeys and
half-basement, a 22-window range arranged 8:6:8, the centre
breaking forwards very slightly. Slightly segmental-headed
windows, those to the basement blocked and the others with
9-paned glazing; parapet with stone coping. Four-window gable
ends with coped parapets. Semi-circular stair turret to rear.
Interior: timber joists on cast-iron columns. Forms group with
Murray's Mill, Redhill Street (q.v.).
