LITTLEBURY HIGH STREET 1. 5222 (west side) The Gatehouse (formerly listed as Gate House Farmhouse) TL 5139 32/495 26.11.51 II GV 2. The house is said to be on the site of the C13 house of the Bishop of Ely who was Lord of the Manor. The present building is C16, timber-framed and plastered with cross wings at the north and south ends. The cross wings are 2 storeyed with attics and the centre hall block is one storeyed with attics. The ground storey has exposed timber-framing. Modern doorway. Roof tiled (old tiles), with a central chimney stack with 2 diagonally set shafts and 2 gabled dormers to the centre block, one large and the other small.
