1. 1425 HIGH STREET (East Side) ------------ No 41 SJ 6552 1/22 II 2. Late C16 (carved inscription dated l584), Timber framed with plaster infilling; 3 storeys plus attic; gabled end to street and overhang to each storey with contemporary brackets carved with human faces etc; 2 early Renaissance style fluted pilasters to 1st storey with carved capitals; C19 canted oriel window and ash window at each side; tiles. Modern shop front. Contemporary wood panel inscribed:- "God grante our Royal Queen in England and long to raign for she hath put her helping hand to bild this town again". Matthew Henry, celebrated Non conformist Preacher died here 1714.
