1. l425 WELSH ROW (North Side) ----------- Nos 26 to 30 (even) (Cheshire Cat Public House) SJ 6452 1/12 19.4.48 II GV 2. Built late C17 as an almshouse for aged widows and formerly known as Wilbraham's Almshouses. Timber framed with brick infilling, painted black and white, 2 storeys; gabled end to Second Wood Street, 3 original wood mullioned windows of 4 lights to front, the uppers transomed and those to gabled end of 5 lights - all with modern or restored leaded lights; 3 moulded wood doorways with later doors, modern barge boards; tiles. The building now incorporates C19 cottages at rear and when inspected had recently been well restored and converted from a restaurant to a public house but its character has been preserved and the interior retains exposed timber framing throughout. Nos 8, 10, 10A, 12A, 12 to 18 (even). Three Pigeons Public House, Nos 26 to 30 (even) and mounting block at right hand end of Nos 26 to 30 form a group.
