The present house was begun circa 1695.Between 1760 and 1770 it was
enlarged and refashioned by "Athenian" Stuart and again partly remodelled
by Samuel Wyatt at end of C18. The interior is particularly notable for
its magnificent plaster work and other decorations. See County Life.
