Differs from Wood's original design as the central block Nos 16 to 18,
is in Neo-Grec style with Ionic order by J Pinch 1830. Dr William Oliver
lived in a house on this site. Nos 18A and 19 are to the north of it and have
3 storeys and attics. Central portion projects forward crowned by pediment.
3 1st floor windows are flanked by Ionic pilasters. 7 windows in block. Rusticated
base. Only 2 crowning vases remain on pediment at back. Nos 15 and 14
to the south are similar but there are 3 crowning vases on front pediment.
Interior No 15 from which the finest Spanish mahogany staircase
in Bath was sold to America, still retains plaster work by Francini Bros,
in Italianate style.
