Original block 1737-42 by John Wood the Elder. 2 storey plus attic
storey (attic-storey added by John Palmer in 1790), 11 bays, sashes
in architraves, centre portion breaks forward with 4 engaged Ionic
columns, entablature and pediment. Western block in generally similar
style added in 1850-59. Architects: Manners and Gill.
