1. SUMMER LANE 823 COMBE DOWN De Montalt Works (Main East Block) ST 7662 38/1631 II 2. Early C19 printing works originally used to print notes for Bank of England, later converted to Cabinet manufactory. Now disused and partly ruinous. Main block to east of 2 and 3 storeys with 4 storeys to south (sloping site). Ashlar. Hipped and gable end slate roofs. Glazing bar sashes grouped with thin drip moulds. 4 storey south return has coved drip moulds. 4 storey south return has coved drip mould and strings over 6 windows. Originally water powered but machinery removed. Small 2 storey 2 window block to south with largely demolsihed link wall. North 2 storey front has 5 bay Doric colonnade to centre ground floor flanked by 2 windows. 2 segmental arched hatches and 3 windows on 1st floor with common drip mould.
