SD 70 NEOutwood Viaduct7/8529.7.76

SD 70 NE Outwood Viaduct 7/85 29.7.76 - II Former railway bridge over River Ipwell. 1881. Built for Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway by Andrew Handyside and Co of Derby. 5 cast iron arches on tall brick pil- lars, capped with stone. Brick abutments. Stone bases and cutwaters to 2 pillars in river bed. 6 ribs of arches are spaced to carry the rails directly. Wooden decking. An unusually late example of cast iron railway bridge.
