Illustrated guides to cities, towns and large villages were popular from around the 1920s and continued to be produced up to around the 1970s.
They were often published by the local council or a body such as the Chamber of Commerce. They were produced for residents and visitors and included information on a range of facilities including transport, housing, education, leisure and health.
Some listed local industries and most contained a large number of advertisements.
Most likely to be in a local studies library - possibly in an archive repository.
