The teacher's forum pages comprise case studies and lesson plans devised by teachers, based on historic buildings and the the Images of England website.

They demonstrate how listed buildings; their images and listing text, have been studied, or used as a resource by teachers to illustrate National Curriculum themes. They show how such studies, when based on a local building or area, can encourage a better understanding of the built environment engendering interest in and also increasing awareness of its value to the local community.

The techniques used and questions asked can be readily transferred from the buildings in these case studies to a building in your locality, familiar to your pupils and thus of intrinsic interest to them. The more generally based topics can be replicated or adapted to suit your own schemes of work.
