Another Chance to See Erewash Exhibition
Following the success of the Images of England exhibition at the Erewash Museum earlier this year there is another chance to see it at a new venue. Featuring photographs of the Erewash Valley taken for the Images of England project by local photographer Peter F. Holt the exhibition, now showing at Long Eaton Town Hall, runs until 4th July.

Holt FRPS BPE2* has lived for most of his life in the Erewash area and is enjoying the challenge of recording local heritage for posterity: "I am proud to be involved in the Images of England project especially being able to photograph some of the buildings that have been a part of my life," says Peter, "This is your heritage and mine. The photographs I have taken for the project reflect the diversity of the Erewash area."

The exhibition offers an introduction to the huge variety of listed buildings across England, which include not only palaces and country houses but also lesser-known structures such as milestones, telephone boxes and lamp posts. Over 70,000 images taken for the project, including some from the Erewash area, can be viewed directly on the Images of England prototype website. Derbyshire has over 6,000 listed buildings, including the Grade II* listed building that contains the Long Eaton Town Hall.

The exhibition runs until Friday 4th July 2003. Opening hours are Monday - Thursday, 9am to 5pm, and Friday 9am - 4:30pm each week.
