Images of England Torquay Exhibition Extended
K6 Telephone Box, Kingswear - IoE number: 100693 © Kenneth Dent The Images of England exhibition at the Torquay Museum, Devon, featuring the work of several local volunteer photographers has been extended until the New Year.

The exhibition offers an introduction to the huge variety of listed buildings across England, which include not only palaces and country houses but also lesser-known structures such as milestones, telephone boxes and lamp posts.

Photographs included in the exhibition include landmarks from Torquay, Brixham, Dartmouth and Dawlish as well as some from further afield in the county. From K6 telephone boxes in Kingswear and milestones in Ivybridge to Torquay Pavilion and Brixham Harbour retaining wall, the area has many listed structures to be proud of and this exhibition showcases just some of them.

Over 85,000 images taken for the project, including some from the Torbay area can be viewed directly on the Images of England prototype website. Devon has over 20,000 listed buildings, including the Grade II listed Torquay Museum where the exhibition is being held.

All of the photographs in the exhibition have been produced using inks and paper kindly donated by Lyson UK Ltd.
